Abstract:
By light irradiation, a light emitting region (14) is formed in water being treated (4). A light receiving region (16) of a light receiving unit (12) is caused to intersect with the light emitting region, thereby creating a measurement region (18) in the water being treated. Scattered light (10) is received by the light receiving unit, and reception level of the scattered light is converted into solids content and is output, whereby leak floc having a small particle diameter in the water being treated can be monitored with high accuracy, aggregation defects in the water being treated can be found at an early stage, and the input amount of an aggregating agent can be controlled swiftly and optimally, which lead to reduction in the amount of floc leak appearing in the water being treated.
