Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an air bag device configured so that the interference between a cushion and a structure in the upper part of a vehicle interior can be avoided.
[Solution] An air bag device 100 installed in a vehicle having a predetermined structure 152 suspended from the upper part of the vehicle interior, the air bag device 100 comprising: a cushion 108 inflated and expanded in a bag shape and restraining a vehicle occupant in a seat from the front; and an avoidance shape section 154 provided at the upper part of the cushion 108 and formed so as to avoid the contact between the inflated and expanded cushion 108 and the structure 152, wherein the air bag device is characterized in that the avoidance shape section 154 is recessed downward in the range between positions, each at a predetermined distance from the structure 152 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.
