Abstract:
This air bag device is applied to a vehicle having at least two rows of seats including a front seat and a rear seat, which are arranged in the front-rear direction, the relative positions of the front seat and the rear seat in the front-rear direction being changeable, and the air bag device is provided on the seat back rear surface of at least the front seat. The air bag device comprises an air bag which is expanded rearward by gas into a shape having a cavity therein in a side view of the vehicle, the gas being supplied from an inflator. The air bag is provided with a shape holding means which, when the air bag is expanded, holds, against gas pressure within the air bag, the air bag in the shape having the cavity therein.
