Abstract:
Provided is an air cell which contains, in an air electrode layer, a needle-like carbon material that has more reaction starting points for oxygen reduction reaction than conventional carbon materials.
An air cell which is provided with at least an air electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte layer that is interposed between the air electrode and the negative electrode. The air cell is characterized in that the air electrode comprises at least an air electrode layer and the air electrode layer contains a needle-like carbon material that has an average aspect ratio of 10 or more and a D/G ratio of 0.1 or more.
