Abstract:
Provided is an air cleaner which can efficiently clean air around a person staying in a room without causing discomfort to the person. The air cleaner (1) is equipped with a casing (2), an air inlet (4), an air outlet (5), an air blowing means (6), a movable louver (9), a horizontal rotating mechanism (15), an infrared sensor (40), a control means (23) and the like. The control means (23) performs wind direction control of the blowout air blown out from the air outlet (5) by driving the movable louver (9) and the horizontal rotating mechanism (15). The wind direction control is carried out in such a manner that a front-back direction vector (50b) of a wind direction vector (50) is directed to the direction of the person, and the wind direction vector (50), which is the sum of vector components (50a, 50b, 50c), is not directed to the direction of the person. Preferably, the direction in which the person is present and the height of the person are detected by the infrared sensor (40), and the wind of the blowout air is directed toward the person in the horizontal direction and directed above the height of the person in the vertical direction.
