Abstract:
[Problem] To suppress air column resonance in a duct (2, 3) connected to an air cleaner 1. [Solution] This air cleaner 1 comprises a case 11, 12 which defines an extended space, and a filter element 13. In the case, a suction port 111 and an exhaust port 121 are provided. The air cleaner 1 further has an opening end member 14 which is formed in a tubular shape from a breathable material. The opening end member 14 is provided in the suction port 111 so as to project into the upstream extended space SU and so as to extend the duct wall of the suction port 111, and the space SI on the inner periphery of the opening end member and the space SO on the outer periphery thereof are directly connected as the upstream extended space SU. Defining D as the diameter and L as the length of the opening end member, it holds that 0.25D ≦ L ≦ 2.0D, and the air permeance of the breathable material configuring the opening end member is in the range 0.3-100 s/300cc, measured with the Gurley method.
