An air conditioner and an accumulated water or snow identification method therefor. The air conditioner comprises a controller (8) and an outdoor heat exchanger (5), wherein the outdoor heat exchanger (5) has an air outlet (3) located at the top; and the air conditioner further comprises a geographic position sensor (2) and a cloud server (12), wherein the geographic position sensor (2) is configured to provide geographic position information about the air conditioner according to a satellite positioning system, the controller (8) is configured to send the geographic position information to the cloud server (12), the cloud server (12) is configured to feed weather information about the position where the air conditioner is located back to the controller (8) according to the geographic position information, and the controller (8) is further configured to provide a judgement result of whether there is accumulated snow or water at the air outlet (3) of the outdoor heat exchanger (5) according to the weather information and the operation condition of the air conditioner.
