Abstract:
The casing (10) of this air conditioner for railway rolling stock has a vent hole (H1) formed therein communicating with a passenger cabin to be air-conditioned. An indoor heat exchanger (24a) which is housed in the casing (10) exchanges heat with air circulating into and out of the casing (10) through the vent hole (H1). A return hole cover (40) serving as a cover for the vent hole has a rigid portion which is rigid and a bending portion which bends more easily than the rigid portion, and through this configuration, the return hole cover can be changed between a first position, where the return hole cover (40) is removably fixed to the casing (10) while covering the vent hole (H1) from within the casing (10), and a second position, where the return hole cover (40) is folded into a more compact form than in the first position.
