Abstract:
An air conditioner (1) comprises: a refrigerant circuit (2) that has an outdoor heat exchanger (30), an expansion valve (42), an indoor heat exchanger (50), a compressor (10), and a first switching device; an internal heat exchanger (60) that has a first flow path which is connected to the first switching device and to the compressor (10) and a second flow path which is connected to a branching part (33) of a refrigerant pipe (32, 43, 44) and to a second switching device; and a control device (80). When the control device (80) causes the indoor heat exchanger (50) to cool indoor air, the control device (80) switches the second switching device to a state in which the second flow path and the expansion valve (42) are in communication with each other and causes a refrigerant with which heat exchange has been performed using the internal heat exchanger (60) to flow to the expansion valve (42). When the control device (80) causes the indoor heat exchanger (50) to heat the indoor air, the control device (80) switches the second switching device to a state in which the communication between the second flow path and the expansion valve (42) is cancelled and stops the flow of the refrigerant from the second flow path to the expansion valve (42).
