An air conditioner disclosed herein comprises: an indoor unit that includes an indoor heat exchanger; an outdoor unit that includes a compressor for supplying refrigerant to the indoor heat exchanger; a pressure sensor that detects the pressure of the compressor; an indoor humidity sensor that detects indoor humidity; an indoor temperature sensor that detects indoor temperature; and a control unit that periodically obtains the temperature difference between the indoor temperature and a certain desired temperature or the humidity difference between the indoor humidity and a certain reference humidity, adjusts the target pressure of the compressor according to a first amount of change in the temperature difference or a second amount of change in the humidity difference, and adjusts the frequency of the compressor according to the adjustment of the target pressure.
