In order to derive, from operation data obtained from an air conditioner, the correct cause of malfunction of the air conditioner and suitable repair information, in this diagnostic system of the air conditioner (100), an outdoor unit (1) and indoor units (2a, 2b) are connected by a communication line (3) and the air conditioner is provided with communication means (17, 25) for transmitting operation data (14, 21) and model data (15, 22) to a mobile communications terminal. If a mobile communication terminal (10, 11) has requested, the communication means transmits the operation data and the model data to the mobile communication terminal. The mobile communication terminal can communicate with a maintenance server system (7), which stores a diagnostic program corresponding to each model of air conditioner, and either the maintenance server system (7) or the mobile communication terminal uses the diagnostic program corresponding to the model data to make a diagnosis of the air conditioner on the basis of the received model data and operation data. The diagnostic result is displayed on a display unit of the mobile communication terminal.
