Abstract:
An ion generator serving as an air conditioner is provided with a casing (21) for forming a flow path for air, and also with an ion generation unit (50) detachably provided to the casing (21) and discharging ions into the air. The ion generation unit (50) is provided with: a front face-side ion generation section (51) and a rear face-side ion generation section (56) which are arranged at a spacing therebetween; and a connection cover section (61) for connecting the front face-side ion generation section (51) and the rear face-side ion generation section (56). One end (51p) of the front face-side ion generation section (51) and one end (56p) of the rear face-side ion generation section (56) are positioned within the flow path so as to be separated from each other. The other end (51q) of the front face-side ion generation section (51) and the other end (56q) of the rear face-side ion generation section (56) are connected by the connection cover section (61). Thus, the ion generation device is installed as a detachable device, and the configuration provides the air conditioner and the ion generation device which efficiently discharge ions.
