Abstract:
Disclosed are an air conditioner that can reliably perform a vacuuming operation and ensure performance during operation, and a method for installing same. The air conditioner is provided with a refrigerant infusion port provided in a connection valve that connects to a liquid-side connection pipe (33) or a gas-side connection pipe (34), a liquid-side valve (16) provided on a pipe (31) extending between the liquid-side connection pipe (33) and an expansion valve (13), a gas-side valve (17) provided on the pipe (31) extending between the gas-side connection pipe (34) and a compressor (11), and a pressure detector (18) provided on pipes (31, 32, 33) extending from the liquid-side valve (16) to an indoor heat exchanger (21) or pipes (31, 32, 34) extending from the indoor heat exchanger (21) to the gas-side valve (17). When an outdoor unit (10) and an indoor unit (20) are not connected, the liquid-side valve (16) and the gas-side valve (17) are closed, and the refrigerant is enclosed in advance in the pipe (31) that is closed by the liquid-side valve (16) and the gas-side valve (17).
