The inside of an outer box (10) serving as an air conditioner housing is divided by a partition wall (16) into two vertically stacked chambers, that is, an upper chamber (7) and a lower chamber (8). The upper chamber (7) has therein an evaporator (11), a blower (12) for the evaporator, and an air conditioning air discharge opening (6), which are arranged from the upstream side to the downstream side within the upper chamber (7). The lower chamber (8) has therein a condenser (15), a blower (18) for the condenser, and a discharge opening, which are arranged from the upstream side to the downstream side within the lower chamber (8). A drain pan (21) for collecting drain water produced by the evaporator (11) is provided below the evaporator (11), and drain water from the drain pan (21) is sprinkled on the condenser (15). As a result, temperature around the condenser (15) can be lowered to increase the heat exchange efficiency of the condenser (15), thereby reducing electric power consumption.
