An air conditioner for vehicle capable of preventing an outdoor heat exchanger of a heat pump air conditioner from frosting and improving heating function by the effective use of heat from engine coolant, comprising a judgment means to judge whether or not the outdoor heat exchanger (5) is under the environment capable of being frosted and a control means to circulate the engine coolant to a radiator (9) when the outdoor heat exchanger (5) is judged by the judgment means to be in the environment capable of being frosted, the outdoor heat exchanger (5) and the radiator (9) comprising heat exchanging parts formed with corrugated fins and a plurality of tubes laminated alternately with these fins and a header communicating with the plurality of tubes and each of the heat exchanging parts being opposed to each other and the fins being formed integrally by common members.
