Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner wherein a maintenance operation for a drain pan, including checking of the inside of the drain pan and supplying of an antibacterial material into the drain pan can be easily performed from the outside. An air conditioner (A) is comprised of a substantially box-shaped casing (1), an air blower (20) disposed within the casing (1), a heat exchanger (30) disposed within the casing (1), a drain pan (40) which stores condensed water from the heat exchanger (30), and a drain pump (50) which discharges the condensed water accumulated in the drain pan (40) to the outside of the air conditioner. The air conditioner (A) is further comprised of a passage (60) through which a flexible elongated body for maintenance of the air conditioner (A) can be inserted from the outside to the vicinity of the bottom portion of the drain pan (40). The passage (60) is comprised of only a straight portion, a portion bent at an obtuse angle, and one kind or two kinds or more of curved portions. Further, the passage (60) has a high-placed passage portion (61) placed at a position higher than the position of an intake port (51) of the drain pump (50).
