Abstract:
An air conditioner wherein an outdoor unit, which has a compressor, a four-way valve, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, and an outdoor blower, and an indoor unit, which has an indoor heat exchanger, are connected in a loop to circulate a refrigerant, thereby forming a vapor compression-type refrigeration cycle or a heat pump cycle and performing cooling and heating, said air conditioner being equipped with an auxiliary heat exchange means positioned between the outdoor heat exchanger and the outdoor blower, and connecting the four-way valve and the outdoor heat exchanger. Thus, it is possible to provide a compact air conditioner having good performance, and for which the capacity of the outdoor heat exchanger can be supplemented without requiring that the outdoor unit have a large external form.
