Abstract:
This air conditioner is equipped with: an air conditioner body that performs air conditioning of a space to be air-conditioned; an infrared sensor that is provided to the air conditioner body, and scans infrared rays to detect the temperature in the space to be air-conditioned; and a control unit that controls the infrared sensor. The control unit comprises: a first image generation means for generating a first temperature distribution image of the space to be air-conditioned from the temperature in the space to be air-conditioned detected by the infrared sensor; a first extraction means for extracting pixels exceeding a first threshold temperature from the first temperature distribution image generated by the first image generation means; a second image generation means for generating, from the temperature in the space to be air-conditioned detected by the infrared sensor, a second temperature distribution image, which is an image of a region including the pixels extracted by the first extraction means and is higher in resolution than the first temperature distribution image; a second extraction means for extracting as a human body region the region comprising a group of pixels exceeding a second threshold temperature from the second temperature distribution image generated by the second image generation means; and an air-conditioning control means for controlling the operation of the air conditioner body on the basis of the temperature in the human body region extracted by the second extraction means.
