Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an air conditioner which is capable of sensitively detecting contamination in a dust collecting unit even if the wind speed distribution of air sucked in is uneven. This air conditioner has: a fan which sucks indoor air; a dust collecting unit which collets dust in the air sucked by the fan; a contamination detection sensor which is disposed across the air suction port or blowout port of the dust collecting unit and is equipped with fibers containing carbon nanotube; and a control unit which determines whether or not contamination has occurred in the dust collecting unit on the basis of a change in the current passing through the fibers when a predetermined voltage is applied to the contamination detection sensor.
