Abstract:
An air conditioner equipped with: a refrigerant circuit formed by connecting a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, and an indoor heat exchanger by means of refrigerant piping; a room temperature sensor that detects the temperature in a room in which the indoor heat exchanger is installed; a piping temperature sensor that detects the piping temperature of the indoor heat exchanger; and a control device that controls the compressor on the basis of the detection results from the room temperature sensor and the piping temperature sensor. The control unit has: an operating condition setting unit that uses a set temperature and the room temperature detected by the room temperature sensor to set the driving frequency of the compressor, and that sets a target evaporation temperature from the room temperature detected by the room temperature sensor; an operating condition assessment unit that assesses whether the difference between the piping temperature detected by the piping temperature sensor and the target evaporation temperature is less than a high-temperature threshold value; and a compressor control unit that drives the compressor at a higher frequency than the driving frequency when the difference between the piping temperature and the target evaporation temperature as assessed by the operating condition assessment unit is equal to or greater than the high-temperature threshold value.
