Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an air conditioner that is capable of ensuring detection of the occurrence of refrigerant leakage while suppressing erroneous sensor detection even when a gas other than a refrigerant enters from an inlet of an indoor unit of the air conditioner. This air conditioner uses a refrigerant having a density higher than air and is provided with: a casing; an inlet which is provided to the front surface of the casing and through which indoor air is taken into the casing; a heat exchanger that exchanges heat between the air taken in through the inlet and the refrigerant; an outlet through which the air heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger is blown out to the outside of the casing; a fan that is installed to an air passage from the inlet to the outlet; and a sensor that detects leakage of the refrigerant. The heat exchanger is disposed above the fan, and the sensor is disposed below the fan.
