Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner that suppresses incidences of erroneous detection of refrigerant leaks occurring due to the effect of gases other than refrigerant and that can accurately detect refrigerant leaks occurring inside a housing. For this purpose, this air conditioner comprises: a housing (40) in which an inlet (16) and an outlet (17) are formed and that accommodates refrigerant piping (23) enclosing refrigerant; an indoor unit fan (12) that generates a flow of air taken in from the inlet (16) and blown out from the outlet (17); a sensor (31) that is provided in the housing (40) and that can detect the concentration of refrigerant in the atmosphere; a control unit (54) that stops the indoor unit fan (12) operation when the refrigerant concentration detected by the sensor (31) while the indoor unit fan (12) is operating is greater than or equal to a preset first reference value; and a leak detection unit (51) that detects a refrigerant leak on the basis of the detection results of the sensor (31) after the indoor unit fan (12) has stopped.
