Abstract:
An air conditioner (1) comprises: an indoor unit (2) having an auxiliary tank (21) in which water is reserved; and an external container (5) which is connected to the auxiliary tank (21) and in which water is reserved. When no water is reserved in the external container (5), humidification is carried out by use of only water reserved in the auxiliary tank (21). The indoor unit (2) further comprises: an inner water sensor (26) that detects the amount of water reserved in the auxiliary tank (21); a determination unit (27) that, when humidification is carried out by use of only water reserved in the auxiliary tank (21), determines whether or not the amount detected by the inner water sensor (26) is less than a preliminarily set amount; and a control unit (28) that controls an air conditioning operation of reducing the amount of water for use in humidification when the determination unit (27) determines that the amount detected by the inner water sensor (26) is less than the set amount.
