Abstract:
In order to improve reliability of a current surge protection function, an air conditioner (100) is provided with: a motor (7); a microcomputer (13) serving as a first drive circuit that generates a first signal for driving the motor (7); a drive device (5) serving as a second drive circuit that generates a drive signal (8a) as a second signal for driving the motor (7) on the basis of the first signal; and a timer circuit (14) serving as a signal generation stop circuit that stops generation of the drive signal (8a) by the drive device (5) when, on the basis of information dependent on a current flowing through the motor (7), the motor (7) has been determined to be in an abnormal state.
