Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an air conditioner and a control method therefor. The air conditioner of the present disclosure comprises: a case having a suction port through which air flows, and having, at a side thereof, a discharge port through which the air is discharged; a blower fan disposed in the case such that air flows in through the suction port and is blown out of the discharge port; a front guide for guiding, to the discharge port, the blown air from the blower fan; and a rear guide, which is spaced rearward from the front guide and forms a discharge path with the front guide, wherein the front guide includes a fixed guide, which is fixed in the case and has a fixed guide surface, and a moving guide, which has a moving guide surface and can move in front of the fixed guide, and the moving guide can move between a first position at which the moving guide surface and the fixed guide surface are continuous, and a second position at which the moving guide surface and the fixed guide surface are discontinuous.
