This air-conditioning apparatus which provides air-conditioning for a space to be air-conditioned comprises a wind direction plate, a sensor, a sensor information analysis unit, a control unit, and a determination unit. The wind direction plate controls the direction of the air blowing into the space to be air-conditioned. The sensor detects the temperature distribution in the space to be air-conditioned. The sensor information analysis unit detects a person in the space to be air-conditioned and the location of the person or an area including the location of the person from the temperature distribution detected by the sensor and obtains first information relating to the temperature in the location or the area. The control unit controls the wind direction plate so that the wind direction is directed to the location or the area. The determination unit determines whether or not the first information satisfies conditions for human comfort. If the first information does not satisfy the conditions for comfort, the control unit controls the wind direction plate so that the first information satisfies the conditions for comfort.
