Abstract:
Provided is an air-conditioning apparatus which can detect the leakage of refrigerant with a high degree of accuracy even when a residual liquid refrigerant accumulates within an accumulator. During an operation state wherein a residual liquid refrigerant accumulates within an accumulator (24), an air conditioning apparatus (1) moves a part of the residual liquid refrigerant that has accumulated within the accumulator (24) to a condenser, and stores the same within the condenser. If the amount of the residual liquid refrigerant remaining within the accumulator (24) is defined as a reference amount, the air conditioning apparatus (1) determines that the refrigerant is leaking from a refrigerant circuit (10) when the amount of the residual liquid refrigerant is smaller than the reference amount.
