Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an air-conditioning apparatus which has an expansion tank with less failure and reduces installation space and mounting costs for the expansion tank. This air-conditioning apparatus comprises: a refrigeration cycle circuit which is configured by a compressor 20, an outdoor heat exchanger 23, an expansion valve 22, and a refrigerant-side flow path 7a of an intermediate heat exchanger being annularly connected through a first piping with a refrigerant circulating therethrough, the intermediate heat exchanger performing heat exchange between the refrigerant and a heat carrier that is different from the refrigerant; and a heat carrier circulation circuit which is configured by a heat-carrier-side flow path 7b of the intermediate heat exchanger, a pump 6, and a use-side heat exchanger 26 being annularly connected through a second piping with the heat carrier circulating therethrough. In the second piping, a tank 8 is vertically disposed, and absorbs, using the gas filled therein, the change in the volume of the heat carrier circulating in the heat carrier circulation circuit.
