Abstract:
This air conditioning apparatus is provided with: a refrigerant circuit connecting an outdoor unit and a plurality of indoor units; an on-off valve provided to, among a plurality of refrigerant pipes, a refrigerant pipe through which a refrigerant flows out of the outdoor unit when a discharge side of a compressor and a heat source-side heat exchanger are connected by a flow channel switching device; a refrigerant leakage detection device for detecting refrigerant leakage into indoor space; and a control device. The refrigerant circuit of the outdoor unit has a capacity equal to or greater than the total volume of refrigerant present in the refrigerant circuit. Upon detection of refrigerant leakage by the refrigerant leakage detection device, the control device shuts off the on-off valve, controls the flow channel switching device so as to cause the discharge side of the compressor and the heat source-side heat exchanger to be connected, and operates the compressor so as to cause the total amount of refrigerant to be retained in the refrigerant circuit of the outdoor unit.
