Abstract:

An air conditioning device for a vehicle is configured in such a manner that the flow rate of a refrigerant, said flow rate being used for estimating compressor torque, is highly accurately estimated by accurately detecting the difference in pressure across an orifice, said difference in pressure having a high correlation with the flow rate of the refrigerant. As a result, the compressor torque is highly accurately estimated, and the estimation can be performed by the air conditioning device which is reduced in size and cost. An air conditioning device for a vehicle, comprising a refrigeration cycle provided with a refrigerant compressor, a condenser, a pressure reduction/expansion mechanism, and an evaporator. The air conditioning device is provided, in a refrigerant path between the condenser and the pressure reduction/expansion mechanism, with a differential pressure detection means which has disposed therein an orifice for restricting the flow of the refrigerant and is able to detect the difference in pressure across the orifice; a refrigerant flow rate estimation means which estimates the flow rate of the refrigerant by referring to the detected difference in pressure; and a compressor torque estimation means which estimates the torque of the compressor by referring to the estimated flow rate of the refrigerant.
