An air conditioning system, comprising a primary pipeline. The primary pipeline comprises a compressor (1), a four-way valve (2), an outdoor heat exchanger (4), a first throttling component (5), and an indoor heat exchanger (10) that are connected to form a loop. The air conditioning system further comprises a secondary pipeline formed by sequentially connecting an electronic expansion valve (6), a liquid storage tank (7), a one-way valve (8), and a second throttling component (9) in series; the secondary pipeline is connected in parallel to a pipeline between an outlet of the outdoor heat exchanger (4) and an inlet of the indoor heat exchanger (10) in the primary pipeline; a pressure sensor (3) is further provided in the primary pipeline of the air conditioning system and used for monitoring the pressure of the air conditioning system. Also provided is a control method for an air conditioning system. A refrigerant is stored at a high temperature and the refrigerant reenters the system at a low temperature for circulation; the system operates stably; the operation load of the system is reduced.
