Abstract:
An outside air temperature and the temperature of a heat exchanger of an outdoor unit are detected by temperature sensors, respectively, and human detection sensors each detect whether or not a human is present in an air blowable region of each of indoor units. When, on the basis of a first defrosting operation mode in which a defrosting operation is performed while fans of all of the indoor units are stopped and temperatures detected by first and second temperature sensors, respectively, estimating that the amount of frost formation on the heat exchanger exceeds a threshold value, a control unit preferentially selects an indoor unit with an air blowable region in which no human is detected by the human detection sensor, and selectively executes a second defrosting operation mode in which the defrosting operation is performed while the fan of this indoor unit is forcibly operated. Such air conditioning system and defrosting operation method shorten the time required for defrosting.
