Abstract:
An energy saving air-conditioning system having a high dehumidifying capability and capable of responding to an air-conditioning load flexibly, and a method of operating the same. Specifically, an air-conditioning system provided with a desiccant (103) for adsorbing thereto the water in the air to be processed, a compressor (260), and a heat pump (200) operated with the processed air and regenerated air used as a low heat source (240) and a high heat source (220) respectively, and supplying desiccant regenerating heat to the regenerated air, wherein a heat exchange rate at a sensible heat exchanger between the processed air which has passed through the desiccant and has not yet flowed into a low heat source heat exchanger for the heat pump and the regenerated air which has not been used to regenerate the desiccant is made regulatable.
