Abstract:
Provided is an air-filled radial tire for heavy loads. Said tire can effectively inhibit side cuts from protrusions such as rocks and can decrease the speed at which cuts progress to the inner surface of the tire. Given an imaginary line segment that is parallel to the tire axis and that goes through the widest point of the carcass in a widthwise cross-section of the tire, a straight line that connects the widest point of the tire (B) with the point (D) at which the imaginary line segment intersects the outer surface of the tire forms an acute angle (α) with a radial line segment, said acute angle satisfying the relation 0 <α ≤ 30°. An acute angle (β) between a radial line segment and a straight line that connects the widest point of the tire with a bend point satisfies the relation 0 ≤ β < 30°. Reinforcing rubber (10) is disposed between a main carcass section (5a) and a fold section (5b), 0.15-0.25 SH radially outwards from the widest point of the carcass and 0.20-0.30 SH radially inwards from the widest point of the carcass. The reinforcing rubber has an elastic modulus (M) between 60 and 100 kgf/cm² at 300% elongation and an impact resilience coefficient (R) between 0.4 and 0.7.
