Abstract:
Provided is an air-filled radial tire such that the pinch cut resistance of the tire is improved without increasing the weight of the tire. The air-filled radial tire comprises a rubber chafer (7) located in the contact area between a carcass ply and an applicable rim (R) of a bead section, a bead filler (8) located radially outward of a bead core, and a side rubber (13) located along the outer surface of a carcass in a sidewall section. The air-filled radial tire is characterized by being configured in such a way that the radial height of the radially outward end (6a) of a replicated section (6) of the carcass and the radial height of the radially outward end (8a) of the bead filler (8) are positioned inward of the radially outward end (r) of a rim flange (Rf) of the applicable rim (R), the aforementioned carcass being installed in the applicable rim (R) and charged with air pressure; that furthermore, the radial height of the radially outward end (7a) of the rubber chafer (7) is positioned radially outward of the radially outward end (r) of the rim flange (Rf); and that at least part of the side rubber (13) is held between the rubber chafer (7) and the carcass at a location radially outward of the radially outward end (r) of the rim flange (Rf).
