Abstract:
A low-cost nonwoven fabric based air filter material that without the use of split fiber, not only has dust leakage resistance but also is low in initial airflow resistance, exhibiting well-balanced performance in, for example, dust or carbon soot initial cleaning efficiency and life. There is provided an air filter material comprising a laminate of dust layer and cleaning layer, which air filter material has an average flow rate pore diameter of 20 to 40 μm, a minimum pore diameter of 2.4 to 3.8 μm and a maximum pore diameter of 80 μm or less. The dust layer is a needle punched nonwoven fabric layer of 55 to 100 g/m2 fiber basis weight. The cleaning layer is a laminated spunlace nonwoven fabric consisting of a laminate of at least two spunlace nonwoven fabric layers of 20 to 60 g/m2 fiber basis weight, 50 to 90 μm average flow rate pore diameter, 3.0 to 10.0 μm minimum pore diameter and 180 μm or less maximum pore diameter.
