Title:
AIR-FUEL RATIO DETECTION DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/133172
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An air-fuel ratio detection device for an internal combustion engine is provided with cylinder pressure sensors (30). A determination is made regarding whether a cylinder for which the air-fuel ratio in the cylinder is being calculated is a rich cylinder or a lean cylinder. The cylinder pressure detected by the cylinder pressure sensors (30) is used to calculate a polytropic exponent (m) for the expansion stroke. The calculated polytropic exponent (m) is corrected on the basis of an operating condition parameter for the internal combustion engine (10). The air-fuel ratio for the cylinder is then calculated on the basis of the corrected polytropic exponent (m) for the expansion stroke, the result of the determination regarding whether the cylinder is rich cylinder or lean cylinder, and an m-A/F curve.
