Disclosed are an air-impermeable burst diaphragm, a fabrication method, and an explosion suppression valve for a power battery. The air-impermeable burst diaphragm is fabricated by molding a polytetrafluoroethylene suspended resin or a polytetrafluoroethylene suspended resin plus a modifier into a billet, sintering the billet in a sintering furnace at a temperature of 385-400°C, cooling to form a rod, and then performing a machining process and a calendering process. The air-impermeable burst diaphragm is soldered to circular ribs of the explosion suppression valve by means of an ultrasonic soldering process or a sweat soldering process. The air-impermeable burst diaphragm of the present invention is oil-proof, water-proof, dust-proof, can endure high temperatures and chemical erosion, and has superior flame retardant and electrical insulating performance. The explosion suppression valve for a power battery having the burst diaphragm achieves effective explosion control without the need for a rupturing structure, thereby effectively suppressing an explosion caused by a pressure surge within a battery pack or a battery casing after a battery cell failure occurs, preventing injuries.
