Abstract:
An air intake control device for an engine, wherein a throttle body (1) having an air intake path (7) is provided with a bypass (30) which bypasses a throttle valve (8) and connects to the air intake path (7) and the bypass (30) is provided with a valve means (31) for opening and closing the bypass (30). The inlet of the bypass (30) comprises a groove (32) formed in the inner surface of the air intake path (7) in such a manner that the groove (32) starts at the upstream end of the throttle body (1) and terminates before the throttle valve (8). Another path (33) of the bypass (30) connecting to the groove (32) is opened in a step section (32c) raised by a step from the inner surface (32b) of the groove (32). Because of the configuration, during the outputting operation of the engine, the inlet of the bypass does not become intake resistance and, even if water drops flow on the inner surface of the air intake path, the water drops can be prevented from entering the bypass.
