Abstract:
Disclosed is an air intake structure for an internal combustion engine 30, wherein: a partitioning part 81 is provided in an air intake passage 80H of a cylinder head 32 of the internal combustion engine along an intake air flow direction F; and the air intake passage is partitioned into a tumble flow path 80AH and a main flow path 80BH by the partitioning part 81. A downstream-side end part 81b of the partitioning part 81 of the cylinder head 32 is bent toward a cylinder block 31 side. A downstream end 80Ab of the tumble flow path 80AH is directed toward a ceiling surface 32a of a combustion chamber 36. The tumble flow path 80AH includes a first curved part 82 that is curved in a recessed manner with respect to the cylinder block 31 side in the direction of a cylinder axis C, and a second curved part 83 that is curved in a projecting manner toward the cylinder block 31 side. Thus, it is possible to increase flexibility in the arrangement and passage shape of the tumble flow path and the main flow path, and to further intensify the tumble vortex in the combustion chamber.
