Abstract:
Disclosed are an air purification filter to which optical fibers are applied and an air purification device including same. A fiber-optic filter has at least one optical fiber such that part of light received at one end portion and moving along a lengthwise direction is emitted through a surface thereof. Said at least one optical fiber can form a planar layer alone, or can form a porous structure on a non-woven fabric with another fiber or alone. Ultraviolet rays or visible rays that are emitted through the surface of the optical fiber directly decompose gaseous pollutants attached to an adsorbent in the filter or decompose the gaseous pollutants through a photocatalytic activity. Further, harmful microorganisms such as germs, fungi, and viruses collected in the filter are effectively exterminated.
