Abstract:
An air purification system (1) comprises: a wire electrode (20) with which electromagnetic resonance is generated; an electric field probe (40) that measures the strength of an electric field; and a control unit (70) that controls power supplied to the wire electrode (20). The control unit (70) manipulates the frequency of the power supplied to the wire electrode (20) and the position in which the power is supplied to the wire electrode (20), and performs control to maximize the output value of a signal indicating the electric field strength. Feedback is controlled so that the amount of ozone is always constant, by monitoring the amount of ozone generated and manipulating the amplitude and the modulation of the supplied power, so that ozone for breaking down a virus is generated but harmful nitrogen oxide is not generated as a result of supplying, to gas molecules contained in influent gas, energy that is at least the dissociation energy of oxygen molecules and no greater than the dissociation energy of nitrogen molecules.
