Abstract:
An air turbine drive spindle (100) with which it is possible to suppress a deterioration in painting quality by suppressing the inflow of a driving gas into a through-hole in a rotating shaft is provided with a housing and a rotating shaft (1) which is retained rotatably inside the housing. A flow passage (13) for gas that is supplied to rotate the rotating shaft (1) is formed in the housing. A through-hole (17) which extends in the direction in which the rotating shaft (1) extends is formed in the rotating shaft (1). The housing includes a seal adapter (37) interposed between the flow passage (13) and the through-hole (17). The seal adapter (37) is formed in part of a space from the flow passage (13) to the through-hole (17) in which the rotating shaft (1) faces the housing across a gap. The seal adapter (37) includes a projecting portion (37B) which projects from either the rotating shaft (1) or the housing toward the other of the rotating shaft (1) and the housing.
