Abstract:
An air vent apparatus for a fuel supply circuit for a diesel engine is provided, which aims at removing air in the fuel supply circuit without loosening an air bleed plug, by cranking or by operating a hand-operated priming motor, so as not to stain the engine or the like with the fuel leaking to the exterior together with air vent. The air vent apparatus includes a fuel filter (4) disposed higher than a fuel injecting pump (2), a filter cap (4a) provided at the upper portion of fuel filter (4) and having an air vent bore (6) communicating with a fuel outlet (5), a pipe joint (1) screwable with the air vent bore at the filter cap (4a) and having an orifice of a diameter so small as not to hinder a fuel injection quantity of the fuel injection pump, and an air vent pipe (7) connected at one end to the pipe joint and communicating at the other end with a fuel tank (10).
