Abstract:
An airbag device wherein the weight of the configuration for preventing the airbag from expanding in the radial direction is reduced as much as possible. An airbag device (20) is mounted in an instrument panel (110) provided with a lid section (12) which can be split open, and with a lid-side peripheral wall section (14) which is erected on the outer periphery of the lid section (12). The airbag device (20) is provided with: an inflator (22); an airbag (30) which can be inflated and expanded in a bag-shape by gas introduced therein from the inflator (22); and an outer bag (50) formed by sewing a sheet-like member into a three-dimensional shape having an outer bag-side bottom section (52) and an outer bag-side peripheral wall section (54) which is provided to the outer periphery of the outer bag-side bottom section (52), the outer bag-side bottom section (52) being affixed to the inflator, the outer bag-side peripheral wall section (54) being disposed so as to surround the airbag (30) which is in a folded state and so as to be able to be sandwiched between the lid-side peripheral wall section (14) and the airbag (30) which is being inflated and expanded.
