Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a revolutionary airbag device that can protect the head of an occupant on one side and on the front side as well as on the other side. [Solution] The present invention provides an airbag device housed in a vehicle seat and comprising: an inflator that produces an inflation gas; and an airbag that provides protection around the head of an occupant by being deployed from an area near the upper end of the vehicle seat. Additionally, the airbag comprises: a first chamber that protects one side of the occupant; a second chamber which is connected to the first chamber and which protects the front of the head of the occupant; a third chamber which is connected to the second chamber and which is deployed to span from the front of the head of occupant to the other side; and a fourth chamber which is connected to the third chamber and which is deployed on the other side of the occupant.
