Abstract:
A wound-wire filter can be easily mounted to a base of a pressure container.
An airbag inflator, wherein an igniter (3), a gas generating agent (4), a filter (21), and an intermediate lid (24) for covering the gas generating agent (4) and having a turned back section (24a) in contact with the inner wall of the filter (21) is mounted in a pressure container (2) comprising a base (2b) and a diffuser (2a). The filter (21) has a superposed structure comprising an inner filter (22) and an outer filter (23). The inner filter (22) has a tubular shape consisting of a wound wire and is provided with upper and lower end surfaces each tapered so that the outer peripheral side of the filter has a low height. The outer filter (23) has a metal mesh-like structure, is fitted to the inner filter (22) at at least a portion thereof excluding the tapered opposite end portions thereof, and has an outer diameter slightly greater than the inner diameter of the base (2b). The filter (21) is press-fitted into the base (2b).
The filter can be easily mounted to the base. When the diffuser and the base are welded together, the close contact properties between the intermediate lid and the filter can be maintained.
