Abstract:
Provided is an airflow generation device in which a dielectric substrate and an electrode are rigidly bonded by chemically crosslinking with a chemical bond, that can uniformly generate an airflow efficiently by way of a plasma discharge between electrodes flanking the dielectric substrate, that has excellent flexibility, heat resistance, weather resistance, and light resistance, and that does not peel off and does not cause damage or disconnection. An airflow generation device 1 comprises a first dielectric substrate 15 that is made from a rubber elastic material, a first electrode 16 that is provided on or near a first face 15up of the first dielectric substrate, a second electrode 14 that is provided on a second face 15down, and a second dielectric substrate 13 that covers the second electrode 14 and that is made from a rubber elastic material. The device generates an airflow by way of making a portion of gas near the first face 15up into a plasma caused by applying a voltage between the first electrode 16 and the second electrode 14. The bonding sites of the first electrode 16 and the second electrode 14 to the first dielectric substrate 15, the bonding site of the second electrode 14 to the second dielectric substrate 13, and the bonding site of the first dielectric substrate 15 to the second dielectric substrate 13 are bonded by chemically crosslinking with a chemical bond.
