Abstract:
An airplane (10) includes at least one sensor (58, 60), an altitude actuator (22), a memory device (42), and an electronic controller (34). The at least one sensor (58, 60) detects the altitude of the airplane (10), the current position of the airplane (10), and the speed of the airplane (10). The altitude actuator (22) changes the altitude of the airplane (10). The memory device (42) stores prescribed terrain data of a region. The electronic controller (34) estimates the future position of the airplane (10) on the basis of the detected current position of the airplane (10) and the detected speed of the airplane (10). The electronic controller (34) controls the altitude actuator (22) on the basis of the future position, the detected altitude of the airplane (10), and the prescribed terrain data.
