Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a nickel diatomaceous earth catalyst that hydrogenates an aldehyde and a production method therefor, the catalyst being characterized by containing Ni, Zr, and diatomaceous earth, and being characterized in that the contained amount of Ni, calculated as NiO, is in the range of 40-90 mass%, the contained amount of Zr, calculated as ZrO2, is in the range of 0.5-10 mass%, the contained amount of silica, calculated as SiO2, is in the range of 10-40 mass%, and the elimination amount of NH3 in a temperature region of 250-600°C is at least 1.00 mmol/g in an increasing temperature elimination measurement of NH3.
